Adios #2 Pencils, Hello Smartphones
I remember my first day of sixth grade. I had my NKOTB lunch box ready to go along with a matching trapper keeper and an endless supply of #2 mechanical pencils. As the school bus rolled up I realized that summer was over and it was time to get back into gear. Even now, a good two decades after that memorable bus ride, I still get nostalgic whenever I see those few select items that take me back to elementary school. But nowadays it seems like more and more parents are looking for those special deals on smartphones and laptops instead of pencil bags and spiral notebooks. It’s funny to think that in two decades from now, people will get nostalgic reminiscing of that new smell of a smartphone wrapper and laptop instead of the things that used to be. Marketing strategies change and so do things of the past. It’s up to those marketers to keep up with the trends that are out with the old and in with the new.
